Amadeus Consulting's CIO Nominated for DBJ's CIO of the Year Award

Custom software development company Amadeus Consulting's John Basso, chief information officer, was nominated for the Denver Business Journal's CIO of the Year Award. The CIO of the Year Award highlights the top technology leaders in the Denver area, who not only achieved their company’s annual revenue goals, but also championed and developed their technology teams and found ways to give back to their communities.

This is the first year for the awards program, in partnership with SIM, the Society for Information Management. Basso was one of 50 people nominated. The program recognizes the often under-recognized, behind-the-scenes professionals that deal with technological developments and troubleshoot issues every day. The ubiquitous nature of technology has prompted many businesses to rely on new mediums to communicate, and the CIO is often the go-to person to manage these developments.

Often described by his colleagues as a "sustainability innovator," Basso expanded his sustainability knowledge and efforts by launching a program in 2009 called Business Leaders in Action for Sustainability Today (BLAST!), which received the 2011 Boulder County Business Report's (BCBR) Eco-Heroes Award. John also has donated his personal time and company resources to support many local, non-profit organizations including MESA - Moving to End Sexual Assault, the Boulder chapter of Business and Professional Women and the BPW Education Foundation, The Pulmonary Hypertension Organization and The Access Fund, among others.
