After more than 31 years of production of the Honda Accord in the United States, the 10 millionth American-made model of the popular car recently rolled off its assembly line in Marysville, Ohio. Along with that milestone, Honda's four U.S. auto plants have now manufactured more than 20 million vehicles since the Marysville facility opened in November of 1982, when Honda became the first Japanese automaker to build a car in America.

Today, the Marysville Auto Plant makes the Accord Sedan, Coupe and Hybrid, while a total of 11 Honda and Acura models are produced in the United States. Last year, about 95 percent of the automaker's U.S. sales came from American-made models. According to data from IHS Automotive/Polk, the Honda Accord sold more than 360,000 units to individual U.S. buyers in 2013, the most retail sales of any car in the country.

"Honda has been dedicated to supporting American workers for more than three decades, and the Accord's successful Ohio-based production has played a significant role in creating U.S. jobs over the years," said Jason LaCroix, general manager of AutoFair Honda, a New Hampshire Honda dealer in Manchester. "The reason that success has been so sustainable is that Honda refuses to rest on its laurels, so it is constantly improving the Accord to win over new customers and critics alike."

In February of this year alone, the 2014 Honda Accord was listed among KBB.com's 12 Best Family Cars of 2014 and named a Best Value by Kiplinger's Personal Finance, while the 2014 Accord Hybrid earned a MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Award and landed on About.com's Best New Cars of 2014 list. All-new for the 2014 model year, the Honda Accord Hybrid features a two-motor hybrid system that automatically switches between hybrid, electric-only and engine drive modes while returning up to 50 mpg in the city, the most of any four-door sedan on the market. The use of intuitive technology also extends to the 2014 Accord Hybrid's list of standard features, which includes Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera and Honda's LaneWatch display.
