Co-operative Employee Benefits has donated £4,039 to children’s charity Cash for Kids to help its work in Manchester with children who live in difficult circumstances.

Key 103 & Magic 1152's Cash for Kids, based in Manchester, will put the donation towards helping children throughout the region with disabilities as well as supporting those who live in poverty, 1 in 4 children live in severe poverty across greater Manchester.

Matt Tolan, Regional Manager for Co-operative Employee Benefits said: “We are so pleased that we have again been able to help Cash for Kids, it offers such strength and support for children and young people at a difficult time in their lives.

“We have supported the charity since 2008 and feel it’s incredibly important to continue supporting the charity especially given it’s International Year of Co-operatives which is all about building a better future for all.”

All donations for Cash for Kids are spent locally in the Greater Manchester area and used to support and help change the lives of children and young people under 18.

Emma Brown, Charity Manager for Cash for Kids, said: “The donation from Co-operative Employee Benefits is fantastic news; we can’t believe that they have raised so much!

“The team here in Manchester is absolutely delighted that we will be able to make a difference to more children and young people’s lives throughout the region.”

The donation comes courtesy of the Co-operative Employee Benefits Dividend Fund, which gives 10 per cent of profits from sales of Childcare Vouchers to child-related charities. It is part of The Midcounties Co-operative and is a leading ethical business which re-invest profits into local projects and charities.

This year Midcounties Employee benefits has donated a total of £24,617 to children’s charities from its Childcare Voucher Dividend Fund.
