Ford Mustang Powers to Top of the J.D. Power APEAL Chart

Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge have been battling for dominance in the pony car market for decades, but it appears the Blue Oval brand is in the lead, according to J.D. Power and Associates' Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. The 2013 Ford Mustang earned first place in the Midsize Sporty Car segment of the study, which is based on reviews from new-car buyers after 90 days of ownership, besting the likes of the Camaro and the Challenger.

Now in its 18th year, the J.D. Power and Associates APEAL Study measures customer satisfaction in 77 different categories based on the responses of more than 83,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2013 model-year vehicles. Vehicles are scored on a 1,000-point scale, and none earned a higher score than the Mustang, proving that this pony car's shine hasn't diminished with time.
