Nissan Dealers Offer Free 100-Point Inspection for Fall Car Care Month

Customers Also Have Chance to Win 'Maintenance for Life' in October

With a winter of treacherous roads and battery-killing cold fast approaching, October is an ideal time for drivers to make sure their vehicles are prepared for the grueling weather ahead. In recognition of Fall Car Care Month this October, U.S. Nissan dealers are offering free 100-point inspections for Nissan owners, covering 73 more points than the usual complimentary inspection from the auto brand.

Nissan's October Car Care event is also providing a chance for customers to win one of three Maintenance for Life grand prizes, which each include a $5,000 dealer service rewards card that can be used toward regularly scheduled maintenance. The sweepstakes are open to Nissan owners and lessees, and participants can register at www.nissancarcareevent.com through Oct. 31.

"Beyond the fact that regular service helps extend the life of your vehicle, it's just a safe practice to make sure your tires and brakes are in proper shape for keeping traction on snow and ice, and even something as simple as replacing your windshield wipers can prevent accidents caused by reduced visibility," said Jeff Rosen, general manager of Rosen Nissan Milwaukee, a Wisconsin Nissan dealer. "We're dedicated to making service and maintenance as painless as possible for our customers, and we're glad to offer them a free comprehensive report on the status of their Nissan vehicles this month."

For buyers looking for a new winter-ready ride, the Nissan Pathfinder was redesigned for the 2013 model year and is now available with an All-Mode 4x4i Dial located behind the gearshift that allows drivers to switch between two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and an Auto Mode. The new Pathfinder can sense snowy or icy surfaces when in Auto Mode and automatically tailor the amount of power sent to each wheel.

Since going on sale last fall, the redesigned Pathfinder has proven popular with buyers. Last month, the Nissan SUV moved 5,537 units in the United States, a 73 percent sales increase compared to September 2012. Year-to-date, sales of the Nissan Pathfinder have totaled 69,363 units, rising 195 percent over the same period last year.

"Nissan designed its new Pathfinder to be more spacious and fuel efficient while improving its ride in hazardous conditions, and that has made it a very appealing option for tackling Wisconsin winters," added Rosen. "Later this fall, an all-new 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid will go on sale with the same capability while returning up to 27 mpg on the highway, so it could boost sales even higher."
