In 2011 Lexus launched its all-new CT 200h hybrid as a means of attracting younger buyers with an aggressively styled and affordable hatchback. Since then, the luxury automaker has carried on that spirit by revamping the rest of its lineup with a sportier look and feel, and now the Lexus CT 200h has received a similar treatment for the 2014 model year to become even bolder than before.

Recently unveiled at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China, the 2014 Lexus CT 200h dons the brand's family spindle grille, LED daytime running lights and LED headlights and fog lamps. The 17-inch split five-spoke wheels feature a new design while the rear of the car sports a redesigned bumper, L-shaped reflector housings and LED lighting for the license plate. Underneath that sleek new sheet metal, Lexus has incorporated additional spot welding and structural-adhesive technology to increase body rigidity. Inside the cabin, buyers benefit from options like a thinner, fixed center display screen and a more intuitive second-generation Remote Touch Control for climate, audio, phone and navigation.

"The Lexus CT 200h provides the fuel efficiency, technology and versatility that most young buyers want, but it couples those things with expressive styling and engaging performance, and that will be an even more potent combination when the 2014 model goes on sale early next year," said Vincent Liuzzi, general manager of Lexus of Watertown, a Lexus dealer in Boston. "With its prominent spindle grille and new LED lighting, the 2014 CT 200h will project an upscale presence on the road that belies its affordable price tag."

For buyers who want to stand out even more on the road, the new 2014 Lexus CT 200h F SPORT boasts a solid-black roof, a spindle grille with a special mesh pattern, exclusive metal front scuff plates and 17-inch wheels with a two-tone graphite machined finish. Interior upgrades include a perforated leather steering wheel with an F SPORT badge, a leather shift knob, aluminum sport pedals and metallic trim on the dashboard. Meanwhile, an F SPORT-tuned suspension ensures that the model's sporty focus extends beyond aesthetics to performance.
