Honda Civic Is Significantly Updated Once Again for 2014 Model Year

Typically, an automaker will only make significant updates to a certain vehicle every few years, but Honda refuses to take each passing model year for granted with its popular Civic in the highly competitive compact segment. The 2014 Honda Civic is currently rolling out to dealerships with a restyled Coupe model, a newly available continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a range of new technology options, marking the third straight model year that the car has benefited from substantive changes.

Buyers of the 2014 Honda Civic Coupe will enjoy a more aggressive grille and sleeker styling on the fenders, hood and headlights. In the rear, the latest Civic Coupe sports a more prominent bumper and redesigned taillights. Meanwhile, gas-only models of the 2014 Civic Coupe and Sedan are available with the new CVT, which improves both responsiveness and fuel economy thanks to a wider ratio range and less internal fiction. When outfitted with the CVT, the 2014 Civic EX Sedan and the LX trims of the Sedan and Coupe now return two more miles per gallon in the city, netting a total of 30 mpg during urban driving.
