Action-Fueled Ads Accompany the Launch of the New 2014 Nissan Rogue

Fuel-Efficient and High-Tech Compact SUV Shows Off Its Bolder Side

Nissan made its popular Rogue compact SUV more fuel efficient, high tech and versatile for the 2014 model year, but the TV spots accompanying the redesigned vehicle's arrival at dealerships focus more on the cinematic than the pragmatic. Created by film director F. Gary Gray of the "The Italian Job" and "Law Abiding Citizen," a pair of new commercials highlight the bolder styling and nimbler ride of the 2014 Nissan Rogue through the lens of engaging action sequences.

Currently airing in cinemas and on broadcast TV, Nissan's "Commute" ad follows a trio of office workers who drive their 2014 Rogue on top of a moving train to get to work on time, while "Pick Up" highlights the same group riding swiftly through winding roads and around cable cars in San Francisco. Featured prominently in the spots is the redesigned Rogue's more aggressive exterior, including its slanted headlamps accented by angular LED daytime running lights, a new chrome V-bar grille, embedded side-mirror turn signals and flared fenders.

"The compact-SUV class is a very competitive, fast-growing segment, so the new Nissan Rogue needed an enticing style that could stand out from competitors on the road while still projecting a mass appeal," said Larry Tentarelli, general manager of AutoFair Nissan of Stratham, a New Hampshire Nissan dealer. "Not only does the 2014 Rogue inject some fun into the morning commute like its commercials suggest, but it also saves its drivers more money on gas while doing so."

Thanks to improved aerodynamics and a refined Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), the 2014 Nissan Rogue is up to 18 percent more fuel efficient than the outgoing model, returning 33 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive and 32 mpg on the highway with intuitive all-wheel drive. Meanwhile, drivers can stay safely connected on the road with standard Bluetooth compatibility and new optional features like NissanConnect with Navigation and NissanConnect Apps. For growing families, the 2014 Rogue is now available with a third row for seating up to seven passengers.
