Los Angeles insurance bad faith lawyer Scott Glovsky is a 2015 recipient of the California Lawyer Attorney of the Year, or CLAY Award. California Lawyer Magazine reviews candidates from across California to select those who have made a significant impact on the legal community and society. This year’s recipients will be appearing in the March 2015 issue.
Scott was recognized for his representation of thousands of children living with autism in California whose insurance companies wrongfully denied them coverage for essential therapies. The cases resulted in policy changes and secured the rights of California children with Autism Spectrum Disorders to seek applied behavioral analysis and speech therapy from Kaiser Permanente and Anthem Blue Cross of California. The cases also resulted in millions of dollars for autism services and research at UCLA and UCSF.
“I am humbled to be included among the other recipients of this award, all of whom have done outstanding work that has improved our communities,” Scott said. “While I am grateful for this award, I feel more honored that we had the opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s lives.”
