Celebrate National Adopt-A-Cat Month with a New Feline Friend

Operation Kindness Is Offering $25 Off All Cat Adoptions During June

06/03/2015 / SubmitMyPR /

Operation Kindness, the original and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas, is participating in National Adopt-A-Cat Month to help find forever homes for the many cats and kittens surrendered to the shelter during “Kitten Season.” Adopters will receive $25 off cat and kitten adoptions throughout the month of June.

“Our goal is to find perfect homes for the many cats currently under our care,” says Jim Hanophy, chief executive officer. “For each cat that is adopted, we are able to make space in the shelter for a new cat – offering a second chance at life, which may not have otherwise been afforded.”

Wolverine and Ito are just two of more than 100 cats and kittens waiting to be adopted from Operation Kindness. The shelter’s goal is to match up the right pet with the right owner and hopes that discounting the adoption fee will encourage people to come in and check out the many sweet cats and kittens who currently call Operation Kindness home.

Adoption fees are $125 for cats/kittens (discount not included). With the adoption of every animal, adopters receive:

·       Adoption counseling to help the adopter select the cat best suited to his/her needs, family and home environment

·       Pet care and educational materials

·       Temporary carrier for cats

·       Operation Kindness tag with animal ID

·       Microchip ID and registration

·       Rabies tag for animals over four months of age

·       Pet care starter kit with food samples and helpful information

·       Spay or neuter surgery (if not previously done due to young age or medical reason)

·       A coupon for 25% off the entire purchase at Pets Supplies Plus

In order to adopt an animal from Operation Kindness, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have a valid, government-issued photo ID with your current address on it
  • Be able to verify that you can have a pet where you live

The American Humane Association began promoting Adopt-A-Cat Month in 1975 to highlight overcrowding issues in shelters. The association estimates that roughly four million cats and kittens end up in shelters every year.

On average, Operation Kindness adopts out 1,000 cats per year. Currently, it has more than 100 adult cats and kittens ready for adoption. To adopt Wolverine and Ito or one of their feline friends, visit Operation Kindness at 3201 Earhart Drive in Carrollton, TX, 75006.
