HOLMDEL, NJ - Altrui Foundation is a non-profit co-founded by former Holmdel students, Rahul Kavuru a rising senior at St.Paul's School, Shreya Kavuru a rising freshman at Yale University, and Sourish Jasti a sophomore at the Wharton School.
Altrui's main venture: Altrui Rx, is in the process of patenting their 2L product, a medication redistribution platform that serves as a conduit between large pharmaceutical manufacturers and charitable organizations to donate medications that would otherwise be destroyed. In Edu's first iteration, 8 students who signed up for mentoring were matched to successful college mentors who served as guides with resume building, the application process, and planning future academic goals.
Altrui's software development team is implementing this new resource hub where students from educational nonprofits seeking advice with any part of the college application process can connect with several mentors virtually. Students will be able to book appointments with different mentors through designated 'rooms' that offer different services including essay writing, resume building, making college lists, etc.
Rahul Kavuru, CEO of Altrui Foundation, and Max Lahlou, Director of Altrui Edu, wrote: "This resource hub puts less pressure on students and mentors by offering them more flexibility, and luckily, will be able to impact and connect with more students seeking advice on the admissions process. "
