Monthly DPDB meetings held in three districts - Nagaland Post

Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Friday in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC), Kiphire under the chairmanship of chairman DPDB Kiphire, T Yangseo Sangtam, MLA.

According to a DIPR report, chief medical officer, Kiphire Dr. Motsuthung Patton highlighted the status of COVID-19 vaccination in the district and informed that the percentage was very low as compared to other districts. He said that due to rumours and other issues among the public, the medical team could not conduct vaccination in some villages.

CMO informed that till date only seven villages had achieved 100% vaccination and five villages were yet to start the vaccination.

Dr. Patton added that the medical team with the help of NGOs were conducting awareness campaigns in the targeted villages.

Yangseo Sangtam lamented that Kiphire was not only the lowest vaccinated district in the state but also in the country.

In this regard, he encouraged Church leaders, NGOs and tribal leaders to educate the people on the importance of vaccines and asked them to go for door to door campaign. The MLA thanked agri & allied departments for rendering their services to the public and urged them to assist the farmers especially during the water scarcity.
