Since the start of Covid, many millions have quit their job to pursue the dream of becoming their own boss. Similarly, the pandemic has revealed just how dependant our societies are on the crucial work of the care sector, which suffers from chronic staff shortages.
The scene is set for a new generation of care sector entrepreneurs. Care sector recruitment entrepreneur and mentor Christine Blackledge is perfectly placed to lead the charge.
Christine Blackledge is a mother of four, studied law with business, and is a businesswoman specializing in the care recruitment sector and healthcare business setup. She is known as a successful ‘carepreneur’ mentor, and is enabling many others like her to set up prosperous businesses in this crucial sector.
Christine’s Experience makes her the Ultimate ‘Carepreneur’ Mentor
In her thirty years of experience with healthcare businesses and nursing-care agencies, she has tendered for many large-scale contracts and provided thousands of trained medical staff to county councils and the NHS.
In addition, she has extensive experience in procurement-supply contracts. To train staff in domiciliary home care, she opened her NVQ (National Vocational Qualifications) training school in 2001.
Christine has hands-on experience in helping thousands of people set up care recruitment businesses, as well as care homes for the elderly, adults, and children, independent foster agencies, complex care agencies, and mother & baby units.
Christine has set up a business in Cyprus, which is now licensed as a private employment agency. Her current projects also include relocation life coach and ‘carepreneur’ mentorship services.
Christine will help guide ‘carepreneurs’ through the nuts and bolts of identifying their niche, achieving contracts, setting up care and recruitment agencies. Her clients become well-versed in how to hire the right staff and chase the right contracts. Indeed, one of her mentees was able to win their first contract in a two-month period.
Christine’s advice to any budding ‘carepreneurs’ is, “write out your three to six-month plan. Make your ambitions realistic, understand the legislation in the sector, and most importantly, follow your passion. Ultimately, there will always be a need for care. Care never stops.”
Christine Blackledge is building the next generation of ‘carepreneurs’
Christine has been dubbed a ‘transformational trainer’ because she is on a mission to transform people’s working lives by helping them in how to set up their own businesses, nursing agencies, recruitment agencies, and care homes.
The nursing and care sector desperately needs more access to staff. Equally, Covid has encouraged many to quit their jobs and start their own business. By fusing these two trends, Christine is helping people realize just how many opportunities there are for entrepreneurs in the care sector.
The world needs more care staff and ’carepreneurs’ than ever before. Christine is uniquely positioned to help fill that gap and breed the next generation of innovators, who will help look after the patients of tomorrow.
