Google team visits Pakistan to revolutionize education - Global Village space

On the invitation of its country partner, Tech Valley Pakistan, an international Google delegation of Google Cloud, Google for Education, and Google Workspace personnel from Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, and Australia visited Pakistan last week. The purpose of the tour was to look into the potential of Pakistan’s education and public sectors in order to transform them utilising Google’s latest tools and technology.
The one-week journey began with on-the-ground discussions in Lahore, where the committee met with representatives from various private sector schools and institutions to assess their current capabilities and future plans for implementing technology to improve learning.
The delegation also met with the Punjab IT Board to analyse the province’s IT landscape and discuss possible interventions to help schools, universities, and entrepreneurs.
The delegation, along with its country partner, Tech Valley, also paid a visit to the Ministry of Federal Education and attended a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding between Tech Valley and the Ministry, which aims to use Google tools and technologies to help out-of-school children, who number more than 22.4 million in the country.
Parties shall work together to offer chromebooks to government schools and perform teacher training to equip them with the necessary tools under the LOU. The delegation also paid a visit to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, where they discussed the...
