Timothy Johanson – Swimming

School: Mamaroneck High School | County: Westchester County, NY

Timothy Johanson (“Coach J”) earned top recognition for coaching both the girls’ and boys’ varsity swimming teams and leading Mamaroneck High School to its first-ever Section 1 Varsity Swimming Championship. Beyond competition, Coach J supports his athletes through academic guidance, college recommendations, and community service, including leading volunteer efforts for the Mamaroneck Schools’ Foundation Triathlon fundraiser.

Reflecting on his role, Coach J shared that the most meaningful part of coaching is watching athletes grow from “nervous middle-schoolers to confident and capable seniors,” learning dedication through early-morning practices and developing teamwork and lifelong friendships. While proud of championship wins, he emphasizes that seeing athletes succeed beyond the pool is what matters most.

Christine Crowley – Skiing

School: Mamaroneck High School | County: Westchester County, NY

Christine Crowley was recognized for her genuine care for her athletes and her sport. Her leadership has helped her team achieve multiple state championships while fostering a supportive, disciplined, and motivating team culture built on trust and passion.

Former athletes often return years later to share their achievements and future goals—reinforcing the lasting impact Christine strives to make beyond competition.

Tricia Miller – Field Hockey
