Introducing RepExtract — The Better Way to Save Social Media Workouts

New iPhone app turns TikTok and Instagram workout videos into structured plans with exercises, sets, reps and rest periods

RepExtract, an iPhone fitness app that converts workout videos from TikTok and Instagram into structured workout plans, launched today. The app is built for the millions of people who save workout content from social media and then never follow it, and it addresses the reason why: a video is not a workout you can actually use.

Fitness has become one of the largest content categories on social platforms, and saving a promising workout takes one tap. Doing it is another matter. A saved clip lives in a folder with hundreds of others, with no exercise list, no set and rep scheme, no rest periods, and no way to check it mid-set without scrubbing back through a 30-second video one-handed in a crowded gym. The programming is good. The format is unusable.

RepExtract fixes the format. Users send a workout video from TikTok or Instagram to the RepExtract app, and RepExtract reads it and saves the workout as a structured format — each individual exercise, the prescribed sets and reps, rest periods between them, and form guidance where the creator provides it. The result is a plan that can be followed in the gym, edited, saved to a library and repeated, rather than a clip that has to be re-watched every time.

"People save workout videos constantly and almost never actually do them," said Brett Ehlert, Founder of RepExtract. "The video was never the problem — the format was. Nobody can follow a 30-second clip standing in a gym with a dumbbell in one hand. RepExtract turns that clip into a workout you can actually run: every exercise, the sets, the reps, the rest periods. The creator's programming finally becomes something you can execute."

RepExtract

The approach is deliberately narrow. RepExtract is not a general workout tracker, an adaptive training algorithm, or a library of pre-built programs — the market is well served on all three. It is a workout video to workout plan converter for people who have already decided what they want to train and simply need the content they saved turned into a form they can use.

The app also reflects a shift in where training programming now comes from. For a growing number of lifters, the coach is a creator they follow, not a trainer they pay, and the workout arrives as a video rather than a spreadsheet. RepExtract treats that content as a legitimate programming source and gives it the structure the format has always been missing.

RepExtract is available now on the App Store for iPhone. More information, including how RepExtract works, is available at https://repextract.com. Available on IOS
