Members of the Arvada community came together to ensure families benefitting from Colorado Homeless Families’ (CHF) programs experience a happy and memorable holiday this year.
More than 300 individuals, representing Arvada-based businesses, families and schools, gathered on December 10 to deliver toys and other gifts to about 40 families who participate in the programs provided by CHF. Everyone took their wrapped gifts home and will open them on Christmas Day.
“Most of these families cannot afford basic necessities, so Christmas is a holiday they aren’t able to celebrate,” said Connie Zimmerman, executive director and founder of CHF. “Because of the generosity of our community, every parent and child CHF works with received items they need – such as clothing, shoes, toys and other items that will brighten their holidays."
