Arts Horizons, one of the largest non-profit arts-in-education organizations bringing quality arts programming to New York City and New Jersey public schools, hospital pediatric wings, and community centers, celebrates its 35th Anniversary with a Gala on Monday, October 22nd at The Essex House, 160 Central Park South in New York.

This year’s Gala celebrates the illustrious lives of Celeste Holm and LeRoy Neiman. These two Arts Horizons benefactors and champions of the arts both gave their time and resources to the organization, and served as role models for the millions of young people touched by Arts Horizons school performances and in-classroom workshops.

Some of the outstanding programming the organization offers include “The Election Show,” which uses improvisation to teach students about the election process, Percussion with Found Objects, 3-D Animation, Mosaic Murals, Poetry Slam/Spoken Word! and Anti-bullying/character education programs.

“Celeste Holm and LeRoy Neiman were outstanding ambassadors for our organization and our cause, and believed so deeply in the importance of exposing children to the arts,” said Elizabeth Halverstam, Executive Director of Arts Horizons. “We celebrate their lives and the levels of excellence they achieved, and hope to continue sharing their passion for the arts with young people for years to come.”

This year Arts Horizons is proud to welcome Joe Piscopo as the Master of Ceremonies. An entertainer who got his start on Saturday Night Live, Mr. Piscopo is a strong proponent for children and the arts. He is the proud father of four children and the founder of The Positive Impact Foundation, an organization that creates positive media for at-risk youth. Honored by several children’s organization, Mr. Piscopo was also named "Father of the Year" by the National Father's Day Council, and by the New Jersey Council of Children's Rights.

This year, the Arts Horizons Gala will commence at 6:30 PM and includes a cocktail reception, dinner and live auction. There will also be a Drum performance by Arts Horizons students from PS 46 in the Bronx, a special musical tribute to Celeste Holm performed by her husband, Frank Basile and singer KT Sullivan, and Mr. Piscopo will thrill guests with his famous rendition of some Frank Sinatra favorites. Tickets to The Gala are $500 each, and are available online at: http://www.artshorizons.org/event/arts-horizons-35th-anniversary-gala.
