Nicoll Curtin runs Women Leaders in Banking Technology event

With EU lawyers warning that compulsory quotas of women on boards is not enforceable, justice commissioner Viviane Reding this week postponed the launch of the 40% quota for non-executive directors to make up the boards of listed companies.

Currently only 12-15 per cent of FTSE 100 company directors are women and there is clearly an imbalance that needs be redressed. This problem only gets worse when you bring technology into the equation. While women make up 49% of the UK labour force, they account for just 16% of IT and telecom professionals. Yet according to a Catalyst report, companies with women on management teams have a 34% higher return on investment.

Nicoll Curtin Recruitment is running an event for Women Leaders in Banking Technology. The event will bring together around 30 senior women in the technology sector to hear Karin Cook, COO for HSBC’s Global Private Banking business, talk about her career to date and how she has reached a position of great responsibility for one of the world’s leading banks.
