Paul R. Brooks, “The Craftsman” and founder of PRB Leather Co in Brevard County, shares a remarkable story of regaining his health and life on the popular “primal living” blog, Mark’s Daily Apple. Paul’s journey includes a path that takes him from an extremely active and fit young man, to a middle aged man who had to undergo seven surgeries and go on medications to keep his blood pressure and cholesterol in check, and finally to a changed man who now has the energy and vitality to move over 24 tons of concrete in 2 weeks with just his own hands and a trailer.

Regaining his health, Paul has had the energy and ability to pursue his lifelong dream of reestablishing a leathercrafting business that he first ran in the 1970s in California. Having moved to Brevard County nearly 20 years ago in order to raise his four children in what he believes is one of the “best kept secrets” in the entire country, Paul is proud to call the Spacecoast his home.

Just in time to ship for the holiday season, PRB Leather Co is nearing the completion of a Kickstarter fundraising campaign aimed at helping this creative startup raise enough money to buy the tools and supplies necessary to get PRB Leather Co off the ground. The company, run by the entire Brooks family, is focused on crafting minimalist leather goods that hold just enough to keep life simple. With beautiful, quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, the leather wallets offered as rewards for Kickstarter donations are sure to be fantastic stocking stuffers or gifts for that special loved one.

Staying true to Paul’s surfer roots and love for the ocean, the minimalist wallets feature a wave design on the front. One version of the wallet offered is actually made with authentic alligator skin that was legally caught by Paul’s son Levi in the south Brevard County marshes and tanned by Paul himself in his Merritt Island home backyard. The rugged alligator wallet has already become a customer favorite amongst men who have a love for the outdoor lifestyle.

Paul's Kickstarter campaign runs through November 17th so that the wallets can be completed and shipped out in time for the holiday season. To get some holiday shopping done early and to donate to a local man who has overcome a lot to follow his dreams, consider visiting and supporting his campaign by searching PRB Leather Co on Kickstarter.com.

About PRB Leather Co
Paul R. Brooks first started working with leather in the 1970s, making and selling leather goods on the streets of California and Maryland. Now a resident of Merritt Island, Florida, Paul and his family enjoy the simple beachside lifestyle. A few years ago his four children encouraged him to set up a leather shop, and the Brooks family began stocking Paul’s leather workroom with work benches, tools, dyes, beautiful pieces of leather, and even alligator skins that his son Levi caught in the swampy marshes of Melbourne and Palm Bay, Florida. This craftsman’s unique handcrafted leather work is now offered worldwide via his website, where he sells beautiful, simple, functional leather goods that can be used every day. Paul can also be contacted via email ([email protected]) and Facebook, or on Twitter @prbleather.
