Shaun Rogers (NFL) & John Wallace (NBA) join L.O.T for 1st Annual Turkey Drive

Saturday, November 23rd the Brooklyn community and their "friends" can make a difference by working together to help their neighbors most in need.

On Saturday, November 23rd, 2013; notable individuals such as Shaun Rogers of NFL Super Bowl Champions New York Giants and the organization My Innocence Never Compromised (My INC); former NY Knicks NBA player - John Wallace; TV Reality Star-Ramona Rizzo of Mob Wives; Legendary Ralph McDaniels of Video Music Box; TV & Radio Personality “FREE”; Multi-platinum recording artist “Maino”; Platinum Recording artist “Lil Cease & Bang of Junior M.A.F.I.A”; KJ Stroud (NFL); Epic Recording artist “UM”; I AM WondaWoman Foundation; Entrepreneur-Charlene Thomas; Kherra C. Taylor and Walk in My Shoez Charity; Edwin Rodriguez & Richard Gonzalez of L.O.R LLC; Jilton Green-CEO of Je’Taime Shoes; Brickface Clothing; community leaders and local businesses will partner with L.O.T (Leaders of Tomorrow) & Grove Development Center Corporation to kick off the Thanksgiving season in Brooklyn by providing free turkeys to families and those less fortunate.

Hunger is a reality in New York City. According to the New York City Coalition Against Hunger 1.5 million people live in food insecure homes. This time of year marks a time to help make the holiday season a little brighter, our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive illustrates how the Brooklyn community and their friends can make a difference by working together to help their neighbors most in need.

Event Activities will include:
3:30-4:30PM Performance by the Brooklyn NETS Kids Dance Team
4:30-5:00PM Comedy Show with Brooklyn Mike and A.G. White
5:00-6:30PM Turkey Drive
7:00-9:00PM Gospel Concert -Meli’sa Morgan, Natalie Oatman, Minister Michael Pugh and Stephen Hurd

L.O.T (Leaders of Tomorrow) & Grove Development Center Corporation:
L.O.T (Leaders of Tomorrow) & Grove Development Center Inner City Mentoring and Activity Program is a community-based program that focuses on various aspects that negatively impact the community and surrounding boroughs of New York City. The scope of the program focuses on residents of all ages and the specifics related to the detriments of those groups. Some of the issues include but are not limited to youth without adult mentorship, youth financial literacy, entrepreneurship, sports activities and teen pregnancy.
