Honda Accord Hybrid Named Best Car to Buy 2014

The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid has made headlines in recent months, largely because its innovative two-motor hybrid system enabled the all-new Accord Hybrid's fuel economy surge to an EPA-estimated 50 mpg in the city. To qualify, a vehicle must return above an EPA-estimated 30 mpg or 80 MPGe and be available for $60,000 or less. The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid won not only because of its impressive fuel economy but its modest MSRP, which makes it readily available to the mass market. Green Car Reports also noted the Accord Hybrid's superior styling and interior.

"It's hard to find a hybrid that offers Maryland drivers both performance and fuel efficiency, but the 2014 Accord Hybrid does it better than any vehicle on the planet," said Tim Eubank general manager of Brown's Honda City, a Maryland Honda dealership. "It's also more stylish than other hybrids on the road and has the technological compatibility you need to stay connected, including Bluetooth. It really doesn't have a weakness."

Honda revolutionized the Hybrid Accord in this first major update in seven years by implementing a unique hybrid system. Instead of getting its power from the transmission, the 2014 Accord Hybrid operates at low speeds via two motors that power the wheels, using gas only when it reaches higher speeds. This two-motor hybrid system is part of Honda's innovative Earth Dreams Technology initiative, which aims to create vehicles that blend optimal performance with excellent fuel economy.
