HM King Mohammed VI, on a private visit to France, met with French President François Hollande on Monday February 9th , 2015  at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

During their meeting, the two heads of state discussed all regional and  international issues. They underlined the strong exceptional partnership  between Morocco and France and hailed the bilateral agreement concluded on January 31, which set the conditions for more effective judicial cooperation between the two countries.

The two leaders also expressed their concerns about the situation in the African continent, particularly in North Africa and the Sahel, the fight against terrorism, and climate change.

On this occasion, HM King Mohammed VI and President François Hollande reiterated the determination of Morocco and France to fight terrorism and fully cooperate in the field of  security. In this spirit, an intense exchange of ministerial visits will  prepare the next high level meeting between the two governments.

In a press release, French Euro-deputy Rachida Dati said that ''The meeting between HM King Mohammed VI and French president François Hollande heralds new decisive stage in the French-Moroccan friendship''.

Dati commended on this occasion the action by the two heads of states which will enable France and Morocco to work together again, particularly to address security challenges.

"At a time when international terrorism is proliferating, terrorist threats are becoming more mobile and volatile, our responsibility is to join hands and share our knowledge, our intelligence and our means for the security of our two peoples," she said.

The next visit of HM King Mohammed VI to France, at the invitation of President Hollande, should provide a basis for the enrichment of the partnership.
