The Late Show's Gospel Choir members wonder why they didn't get to sing for David Letterman's last episode of CBS TV's "LATE SHOW."

Last Wednesday evening, May 20, '15, the king of TV Comedy, David Letterman, ended his long-running like reign on CBS TV's "LATE SHOW before over 17 million loyal viewers. A ton of celebrities like Bill Murray, Barbara Walters, Steve Martin, Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin, and Jerry Seinfeld were a comical part of Dave's Top Ten List. Even all of our nation's former presidents George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter as well as President Obama got the opportunity to say goodbye to Dave, but the Late Show's Gospel Choir was a no-show.

"We hoped that we'd get a chance to sing "Goodbye" to Dave, because granting us the opportunity to sing on that show before millions of viewers several times over the years changed our lives," remarked Lady Peachena, founder & lead singer of The Late Show's Gospel Choir. "We're still reaping the benefits of his graciousness for we'll sing at a wedding this weekend just because the engaged couple witnessed some of our appearances on that show."

The Late Show's Gospel Choir was formed in October '95, when the show's musical director, Paul Shaffer, asked Lady Peachena to form a gospel choir to film a video about a crazy, knife-slicing guy named "MOE."  Paul loved the choir's harmonious voices so much that he invited them to sing live on "THE LATE SHOW" the next night. The rest is history!

Over the years this amazing choir has performed on "THE LATE SHOW" in various musical skits, most notably the show's Top Ten List when they hilariously sang Songs Never Sung By A Gospel Choir, and in a tribute to Oprah Winfrey entitled, "It Ain't Oprah Til It's Oprah." They have made guest appearances solo, and with Darlene Love, Steve Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, and with Martin Shore (during the First Anniversary of Dave's recovery from bypass heart surgery).

The Late Show's Gospel Choir remain hopeful that they will be able to continue their musical legacy with the show's new host, Stephen Colbert, when it resumes aring in September. This awesome choir will celebrate their 20th Anniversary on Saturday, September 12, at 6 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY. For bookings of the choir, email Lady Peachena at: [email protected]. To see some videos of their appearances on "THE LATE SHOW," visit their website at: www.lateshowsgospelchoir.com.
