Chinese-Themed Resorts World Las Vegas is Currently Under Construction on Las Vegas Strip

The largest construction boom since the 1950s is underway on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The area’s biggest and most expansive project, the $4 billion Chinese-themed Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV), is currently under construction on the grounds of the former Stardust Resort and Casino. Lerch Bates, an employee-owned international consulting firm for vertical transportation, facade access, and logistics, has been selected to design the complex vertical transportation and façade access systems for RWLV’s first phase of construction.

“Las Vegas is truly one of the most popular and exciting entertainment destinations in the world,” said Lerch Bates Area Vice President – West Jeff Marsh. “Resorts World Las Vegas will be an invigorating complement to the exceptional properties located along the strip as well as bring thousands of construction jobs and permanent employment positions to the local economy. Lerch Bates is thrilled and pleased to work on such a tremendous development.”

China is one of the world's most important trade partners, spreading not just goods but Chinese cuisine and culture to all corners of the world. Chinese outbound tourism topped 100 million for the first time in 2014, and RWLV’s authentic Chinese theme is expected to resonate with domestic and international tourists. With rich cultural attractions, varied cuisine and exciting entertainment from China’s many diverse regions and ethnic groups, the mega-resort will provide an infinite variation of entertainment themes from the longest continuous civilization in the world.

The Genting Group, the developer of RWLV, is committed to ensuring that all aspects of RWLV’s Chinese theme will be authentic while offering all the modern luxury amenities visitors to Las Vegas expect. The ambitious development will feature three hotels with more than 3,100 rooms, rooftop sky park and observation deck, panda exhibit, multiple restaurants featuring a variety of authentic regional Chinese cuisines, more than 100,000 square feet of innovative gaming space, numerous upscale retail offerings and a top-tier nightlife venue. Construction of the 84-acre RWLV began in May 2014 and is expected to be completed in 2019.

Denver-area based Lerch Bates, with 35 offices worldwide, has built a reputation as the premier designer of vertical transportation and façade access, permanent equipment and rigs utilized for servicing exterior façades including window washing and maintenance, systems around the globe.
