New York, NY - It is with great sadness that we announce that friend, colleague, and long-time mentor Myron Kahn, died on February 20th at the age of 93.  The entire Kahn Gordon Timko & Rodriques family mourns his loss.  On behalf of our attorneys, past and present and all of our support staff we extend our deepest sympathies to Myron’s family.   Myron was a larger-than-life figure who brought his remarkable passion, experience and energy to the firm.

Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Myron have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Myron leaves behind a firm that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be a part of KGTR.

An ordained rabbi, Myron often employed his deep understanding of religion and its influence on the lives and decisions of juries and clients alike. Myron's early legal career was spent defending claims for Consolidated Mutual Insurance Company, but he found his true passion advocating on behalf of his injured clients.  At times charming and at other times exasperating, Myron's unyielding passion to obtain justice for his clients was known throughout the Courthouse. His unique style and influences made his trial persona very colorful, ensuring that he was always entertaining, yet he remained a true trial lawyer, mentor and most importantly a friend. While his eccentricities defined his unique and colorful public personality, his quiet thoughtful acts of kindness touched many lives.

Those of us who knew Myron personally will always have our “Myron stories,” which will ensure that he will never be forgotten or far from our memories.  The lives of his numerous clients have been changed forever by his work; a claim that not many can make. Numerous friends are left behind but his work continues through these same colleagues and friends, as well as those he mentored.

No words can adequately express our sadness at Myron’s passing or our gratitude for the chance to work with him, but he had a long and satisfying life, which does provide some comfort to us all.  Rest in peace and travel safely Myron.
