Climate Action conversation

CHELMSFORD — Chelmsford Public Library and Chelmsford Climate Action Team are happy to bring you this special evening talk at 7 p.m. Thursday, titled “Massachusetts’s New State Climate Law and What it Could Mean for Our Community” with Tim Cronin, state director of ClimateXChange.

The new law, “An Act Creating a Next Generation Roadmap for Massachusetts Climate Policy,” represents the most significant update to climate policy in the Commonwealth since the landmark 2008 Global Warming Solutions Act. With hundreds of statutory updates and changes, it tackles a lot — everything from solar panels and offshore wind to new building codes and regulatory priorities for state agencies.

Cronin is the state director of ClimateXChange, leading CXC’s advocacy, policy and coalitions work in Massachusetts. He also tracks climate legislation and supports state research deployment. He’s the co-author of “MA Climate Roundup,” a weekly e-newsletter featuring analysis on climate, clean energy and environmental policy in Massachusetts.
