Many studies have considered the impact that certain nutrients have on our skin and in particular, how they affect wrinkling, thinness and hydration.

Numerous fruits have powerful antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that can protect and nourish your skin. Here’s nine fruits to include in your diet, to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy.

Apples

The peel of an apple is rich in different vitamins and minerals. It also contains the antioxidant polyphenol that helps protect against ultraviolet radiation and keeps the skin look younger for longer.

Apple peels are also rich in vitamin C, which regulates the synthesis of collagen and prevents premature ageing, and enhances skin glow. Apple peel or grated apples can also be used in face masks.

Grapes

Grapes are a powerhouse of antioxidants. They contain a wide range of phytonutrients, from carotenoids to polyphenols. Like with most fruits the vitamin and antioxidant content is the highest in the skin, and in the case of grapes also in the seeds.

Resveratrol, a polyphenol, is known for its miraculous properties such as inhibiting the formation of free radicals and may also prevent signs of ageing and other skin problems. This is another ingredient to be used in DIY body or face masks.
