Reverse image search engines have been around for some time now, but for those of you who are still out of the loop, they’re really quite simple. Reverse image searching is much like a regular search, but instead of typing out your inquiry, you upload an image instead.

Google’s reverse image search is probably the most well-known of these engines, but what do you do when you’re not having any luck? Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives to help you find what you’re looking for.

1. Bing Visual Search

Bing Visual Search opens up this list, and for good reason. The tool is a surprisingly robust, feature-rich, and overall useful reverse image search engine.

The basic features you get with Google’s reverse image search are all here. You can upload a photo from your desktop or phone, and you can just as easily paste an image URL.

Bing Visual Search also gives you new ways to search. You can paste an image directly, take a photo with your camera, or search for an image like normal and then use that as the basis for your reverse search.

Once you’ve chosen your photo, Bing Visual Search comes with a much more robust set of tools to work with than Google’s reverse image search. Bing Visual Search gives you more options than Google does, such as what the image looks like, pages that contain that image, automatically cropping your image, and content related to the image you uploaded.
