The world's most popular weekly science and technology magazine is seeking an engagement editor in our London office.
In this role you will be responsible for using analytics data to track and improve how well our content is connecting with readers across platforms, helping craft strategies to deepen our relationship with existing, loyal users and expand engagement with new readers.
You will have demonstrated expertise in digital journalism and will be confident with SEO and organic social media content. You will help the UK and US teams hone web headlines, promote evergreen content and generally help improve and optimise the digital presentation of stories.
You will be comfortable working in content management systems, helping produce news stories, features, landing pages and round-ups to ensure that content is optimised perfectly for Google and different platforms. Part of your job will involve ensuring that digital stories are presented with the right imagery, interactive charts, videos and audio embed.
This role reports to the digital editor in London but will work closely with the audience growth editor, and the news and features teams in the UK and New York.
New Scientist also offers a hybrid working environment, and all employees will be given the necessary equipment to work from home two days per week should they desire to. This role is based out of the London office.
