Accelerate Resources has launched an exploration program at its recently acquired Braeside West manganese project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The company has now collected a 200kg sample of manganese for metallurgical test work and acquired high-resolution imagery data to pinpoint targets for drill testing in the new year. Rock chip sampling at the project recently returned high-grade mineralisation including 55.3 per cent and 53.6 per cent manganese.
The 200kg sample of manganese randomly collected from multiple surface outcrops will be used to generate a representative sample for preliminary metallurgical testing.
Accelerate says the metallurgical work will assist its targeting of high purity manganese and Woodie Woodie style structurally controlled mineralisation at the project.
Braeside West lies about 70 kilometres north of the “world class” Woodie Woodie manganese mining operations owned by private outfit, Consolidated Minerals Australia.
Accelerate believes the geology at Braeside West shows similarities to Woodie Woodie.
Manganese has been mined at Woodie Woodie since the 1950s with production today consisting of several open-cut pits and a 1.6 million tonne per annum processing plant.
Planned metallurgical testing at Braeside West could consist of gravity separation, head grade analysis and metallurgical balance, particle size distribution and high purity manganese test work.
Accelerate has also acquired ‘Light Detection and Ranging’ and...
