Orders are once again coming through and PLAYin Choc is readying itself for bigger recovery in 2022
“We think there is definitely a long standing trend towards premiumisation with ethical, sustainable, plastic-free, vegan and organic products leading the charge, and more travellers preferring to consume higher quality products over cheaper ones – quality over quantity – and that will continue to fuel higher ATV – but not necessarily at the expense of PAX growth which can rebound quickly with more leisure and family travellers and perhaps less business travellers,” Managing Director of PLAYin Choc Dominic Simler tells DFNI.
How well has your travel retail business recovered in 2021, and how confident are you that 2020 will see a further recovery in 2022?
We are grateful to have several airlines once again interested to place orders for a range of our products for inclusion in meals and also gift sets for sale in their duty free magazines on board.
We are also in discussion with several duty-free operators on the ground who are interested to lead the change to a more sustainable future and be amongst the first to market our products in airports.
We are hopeful that the many options available for testing passengers for Covid before travel will mean the industry continues to recover quickly.
