The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the revised and updated syllabus for Combined Civil Services Examination – II. In addition to the syllabus, Commission has also released the model question paper for both Preliminary and Main examinations. Candidates desiring to apply for the application must go through the revised syllabus from the official website tnpsc.gov.in. To download the same, take a look at the steps given below.
Step 1- Go to the official website of TNPSC at tnpsc.gov.in
Step 2- Under the ‘Recruitment’ menu, click on ‘Syllabus’ and then click on ‘Revised Syllabus’
Step 3- Scroll down the page and find ‘Combined Civil Services Examination – II (Group-II and IIA)
Step 4- Click on ‘(Revised) Scheme and Syllabus’ and ‘Model Question Paper (Preliminary and Mains)’
Step 5- They will be displayed in a new tab
Step 6- Download and save the same for future reference.

The preliminary examination will follow an objective-type pattern and will be held for a duration of 03 hours. The exam will have a maximum of 300 marks while the qualifying marks for all communities is 90. A total of 200 questions will be asked. There will be three papers namely:
- General Tamil or General English (SSLC standard) – 100 questions
- General Studies (Degree standard) – 75 questions
- Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (SSLC standard) – 25 questions
