Imphal, January 05 2022: Prizes of the online essay writing competition organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal West under the aegis of Manipur Legal Services Authority on December 28, 2021 have been distributed to the winners on Wednesday.
During the prize distribution function held at ADR building located at Lamphel court complex, district and sessions judge A Guneshor explained the idea behind holding the online essay writing competition and also spoke on the topic of 'Right to freedom of speech and its reasonable restrictions' while MU's department of law faculty member Nameirakpam Brajakanata evaluated marks obtained by competitors in the essay competition.
The event was also attend ed by Manipur Legal Services Authority member secretary Ojesh Mutum, district and sessions judge cum DLSA, Imphal East chairman RK Memcha, AMBA president M Nilachandra, AMBA general secretary Mahira, All Manipur Ladies Advocates Association secretary Longjam Indira, judicial officers, bar members, students, teachers and parents.
First prize of the essay competition was bagged by class XI student of TG Higher Secondary School Thounaojam Sylvia while second prize was bagged by class XII student of Helping Hand Group Academy Buyamayum Arishma Parwej.
The third prize was bagged by JNV class XII student Hijam Sofia.
Apart from them, consolation prizes were given to 13 competitors.
