UPDATE: Google is testing their question and answers feature on maps - Tampa Bay Times

I didn’t read the article; what is it about?

Well, to put it simply, Google is looking to expand the question and answer portion of their tools. They are doing this by adding it to the Google Maps section. This will allow searchers to ask questions and see answers right on the Google Maps screen. Previously the service was available on search directly.

Why does it matter?

Well, first things first, the question section is important because it creates a place where searchers can ask questions and interact with your business. It also allows your business to understand what consumers are looking for in your business. It also matters because anyone can respond to the questions, so if you aren’t monitoring the Q&A section, you might end up with answers that aren’t a true reflection of your business. User-generated answers can be a great tool, but they can also be the source of a lot of misinformation.
