SpiceJet's turbulence: A look at airline's recent mid-air tech malfunctions - India Today

SpiceJet seems to be having a torrid time as the no-frills airline's aeroplanes reported mid-air technical malfunctions multiple times in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, the regulatory body Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show-cause notice to SpiceJet in connection with the degradation of safety margins of its aircraft after eight malfunction incidents reported in the last 18 days.
LANDING AT KARACHI AIRPORT
A Delhi to Dubai SpiceJet international flight on Tuesday made a landing at Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan's Karachi after an indicator light had malfunctioned.
SpiceJet in a statement said that it was a "normal landing" and no emergency was declared, SpiceJet said.
"On July 5, 2022, SpiceJet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-11 (Delhi - Dubai) was diverted to Karachi due to an indicator light malfunctioning. The aircraft landed safely at Karachi and passengers were safely disembarked," the SpiceJet statement read.
"No emergency was declared and the aircraft made a normal landing. There was no earlier report of any malfunction with the aircraft. Passengers have been served refreshments. A replacement aircraft is being sent to Karachi that will take the passengers to Dubai," the airline said in a statement.
This was not the first time.
