TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The meeting between the national teams of Indonesia and Vietnam in the semifinals of the 2022 AFF Cup will be the third match between the coach of Vietnam, Park Hang-Seo, against Shin Tae-Yong since the end of 2020.
The first leg match, Indonesia vs Vietnam in the last four of the 2022 AFF Cup, will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, January 6 2023. The kick-off for this match starts at 16:30 WIB (Western Indonesian Time) and will be broadcast by RCTI.
Ahead of the match, Shin Tae-Yong was questioned about his team's meeting record with the Vietnam team under Park Hang-Seo. Either on the senior and U-23 level, Indonesia under Tae-Yong has not yet won against Hang-Seo.
In the 2020 AFF Cup which took place at the end of 2021 in Singapore, the match against Vietnam ended in a draw with neither team scoring any goals. Then at the 2021 SEA Games which was held in May 2022, the Indonesian U-23 national team lost 0-3 to Vietnam.
However, Shin Tae-Yong remains confident that the performance of the Indonesian national team is currently improving.
