60% of SEOs Say They Won't Use AI for Translation - Digital Information World

AI has an abundance of use cases all of which can come in handy for SEO purposes, but in spite of the fact that this is the case, it turns out that many SEO professionals are not willing to use it. One of the many ways in which AI could end up being used is for the purposes of translation, yet a recent X poll revealed that a majority of SEO experts are not interested in utilizing it for this at least in its present state.

62.3% of the people that responded to this survey stated that using AI for translation as of right now is a bit too risky with all things having been considered and taken into account. The risk might be because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up running afoul of Google’s rules pertaining to machine translation.

While AI is certainly more effective at translating than the tools that came before, using it would make it more likely that Google would rank a site lower than might have been the case otherwise. Another possible reason for this could be that AI translation simply isn’t advanced enough to provide the best results that people are looking for.

Native translators therefore still have a role to play. It seems unlikely that AI would be capable of surpassing their skill levels at least in the near future, which just goes to show that AI is not quite the problem solver and job killer that many people think it to be.

Sites could very well end up ruining their search engine results page rankings if they were to use AI...
