Officer Daley was critically injured after being shot, ambush style, by dangerous ex-felon. Freeze Dry Guy contributes to the community-wide effort to support Daley and his family during the recovery process.

On November 26th 2011, Phoenix Police Officer Anthony “Tony” Daley was critically injured when he and his partner responded to a report of trespassers in a vacant trailer near downtown Phoenix. Officer Daley was shot by a dangerous ex-felon on probation. He was rushed to a local trauma center where, thanks to the heroic efforts of all involved, he survived surgery and will recover.

Office Daley faces a long and painful recovery process requiring additional surgeries, physical therapy and an extended length of time off work. Tony’s wife, a schoolteacher in the valley, has stopped working to be by Daley’s side during the recovery process.

To show their support to Tony and his family, and to help with the costs involved in his long road to recovery, officers from the Phoenix Police Department have organized a raffle of donated items from the business community. Freeze Dry Guy, affected by the level of dedication shown to the officer, and the services provided by all of those who wear the uniform and put their lives on the line to keep us safe and defend us from evil, responded to the call of action by donating several hundred dollars of their premier storable food products to the Phoenix Police Department’s collection.

Freeze Dry Guy provides emergency preparedness items, freeze dried foods, camping food (Mountain House products), dehydrated foods along with other survival foods. They have been in operation, and helping families with food security and emergency preparedness, for over 41 years. They offer a wide selection of ready-to-eat freeze dried food, individually packaged entrees, meats, vegetables and fruits. There choices include gluten-free, vegetarian and organic options.
