Local Pharmacy Technician Is Rewarded With Prestigious Long Service Award

A well-known Cannock Dispensing Technician has reached a magnificent milestone of 20 years service at The Midcounties Co-operative Pharmacy.

Gillian Plummer was presented with the Society’s long service award by Group General Manager, Adrian Wilkinson at Minster pharmacy where she works.

Gillian said: “I was pleased when I received this award. 20 years has flown by and it is lovely to feel appreciated as a valued colleague within the Society.”

After replying to a job advertisement in the local paper, Gillian began her career at the Hawkes Green branch. However, after six years Gillian moved to Minster pharmacy direct where she remained as a Dispensary Technician assisting with the issuing of vitamins and minerals and prescriptions.

Gillian added: “I work with a fantastic bunch of people and this makes my job so enjoyable. It’s great to be able to look after customers who I have come to know so well over the years - I wouldn’t change my job for the world.”
A special bouquet of flowers and £200 worth of Co-operative vouchers were also given to Gillian to mark the occasion, which she intends to spend on a holiday abroad to her favourite destination Turkey.

Adrian Wilkinson, Pharmacy Group General Manager, said: “I am delighted to be celebrating this achievement with Gillian. She’s a valued member of the team and we’re extremely grateful for all she does for the Society and local community.”
