2013 Ram 1500 Earns All-Star Nod from Automobile Magazine

Lee's Summit, MO - Automobile Magazine identifies the best models on the market for its All-Star distinction, regardless of whether they are newly redesigned, but with the 2013 Ram 1500, buyers get the best of both worlds. The pickup truck was voted an All-Star for the third time in four years after 16 of Automobile Magazine's contributors and editors were impressed with the all-new Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn's performance and amenities.

The 2013 Ram 1500 is one of just 11 Automobile Magazine All-Stars in 2013 and the only pickup truck to earn the badge. The redesigned Ram's 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine produces 407 pound-feet of torque and 395 horsepower, offering the power the magazine expected from a pickup in its class. The test-drivers also noted the more agile feel of the Laramie Longhorn Crew Cab, crediting features such as its new ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and optional active air suspension.

The interior of the 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn also scored points with Automobile Magazine editors, who noted the rich brown leather with thick stitching and the authentic wood adorning the dash. WardsAuto, another industry publication, agreed earlier this year when it named the model to its 10 Best Interiors of 2013 list, remarking on the amenities that include an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system and heated front and rear seats.
