SUNUMA is a personal memoir book of an orphaned Liberian child named Roland Kemokai. The book is an account of his experiences and is seen by many as one of the most influential books on life in Liberia. His inspirational new book begins as an abandoned three-month-old baby discovered in a community garbage dump crying from bites from fire ants. Through his various misfortunes including his adopted father being murdered and falling witness to violence of the Liberian civil war, he accounts his experiences and his inspirational journey and new life in America.
Available on Amazon, Books-A-Million, and Barnes and Noble, his book has been noted by many as one of the most inspirational books to read in 2013. This book is available in multiple formats and is priced at $14.40 for the paperback or eBook and Kindle Edition for only $5.99.
Thousands have been moved by his story. Since the release of his book in March 2013, many readers have been moved to tears. One reader in particular left a 5-star review on Amazon from Tiajuana states, “I loved the story of this man's trials & tribulations. My heart has never been this moved. I'm so proud of the man – that all the bad happenings in his life didn't discourage him from doing the best in his life. The people of the U.S. take our good life for granted. If it took this much effort to obtain what he did, most of us would have given up. A true rags to riches success story.”
In addition to being an author, Roland B. Kemokai is also a professional speaker and certified life coach. Feeling the call to help individuals live a fulfilling life, Kemokai became a certified Life, Career & Relationship coach, and launched Global Empowerment Institute, focusing on professional empowerment and personal development. During his eighteen years of public speaking seminars it was his life that has not only changed his own personal outlook but others as well.
As Roland states, “Deep inside every one of us, carrying all our hopes and dreams, our passion and power, is a burner. My mission in life is to help people spark a flame and kindle their inner fire!”
It’s through his remarkable strength, which enabled him to become valedictorian of his high school and gained admittance to college in the United States where he earned both an Associate's and Bachelor’s degree. From there Kemokai went on to become a high school science teacher and an award-winning, syndicated radio show host.
In between his public speaking, he has found time to keep up with his love of music by writing songs and performing live with a rotating clan of singer-songwriters and musicians. He sings and plays several instruments including the piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums. Currently, Roland lives in Austin, Texas where he spends time with his wife and two young sons.
