nexMatrix Telecom announced that is now shipping the Protel 2106, a premise PBX appliance that will support up to 20 SIP extensions and boasts a full set of features, including traditional key system operation.

This new product contains a lightning-fast 32 GB solid state drive and runs the same Protel operating system as all of the nexMatrix PBX products. With a suggested retail price starting at $1,049.95, the Protel 2106 is a reliable and robust IP PBX that can be deployed with virtually any IP phone hardware or softphone application, giving resellers maximum flexibility in meeting the needs of their customers.

The Protel 2106 is built around Intel processors and can be configured to take advantage of the extremely robust Automatic Call Distribution and call reporting features offered by nexMatrix. As a true IP appliance, it can easily support multiple sites and remote extensions without complicated connection protocols or VPNs. The unique key-system emulation features of the Protel PBX product, which allow a call to be placed on hold and be picked up from any other extension, are available on the 2106 for no additional charge.

According to Dianne Ursini, C.E.O. of nexMatrix, the Protel 2106 replaces the Protel SOHO, and is intended to service small office deployments of fewer than 20 users. “In preparation for the planned release of Protel Enterprise replacement in 2017, we are now offering a product that will take full advantage of Protel LTS, our interim feature-rich solution with full key system functionality. This new paves the way to extend our current Protel PBX line for several more years,” Ursini said.

Ursini also stated that the proprietary Protel PBX gives reseller partners an advantage over open-source products. “Our easy-to-use programming interface, coupled with knowledgeable and responsive technical support, give our Affiliates, Partners and VARS an incredibly versatile and robust PBX product that is proudly made in the U.S.A. that they can recommend confidently to their customers,” she added.

Existing resellers should contact their sales representative for more information about this new product. IT providers, managed service companies and phone installation specialists who are interested in becoming a nexMatrix reseller Affiliates, Partners, or VARS should contact the company at 208-697-5808.
