Hyundai Reveals Its Limited-Production Veloster RE:FLEX Edition

With its three-door design and aggressive style lines, the Hyundai Veloster compact hatchback is already one of the most unique cars out on the road, but its fans will soon be able to stand out even more with a new limited-production model. Designed to build on the popularity of the 2013 Veloster RE:MIX Edition, the 2014 Hyundai Veloster RE:FLEX Edition was revealed at the Chicago Auto Show last month, sporting a variety of exterior style upgrades and an exclusive paintjob option.

Outside, the Veloster RE:FLEX Edition features chrome hood accents and door handles, as well as a PVD chrome finish on its 18-inch alloy wheels. Contributing to the hatchback's bolder styling are projector headlamps with LED accents, LED taillights, illuminated door sills and RE:FLEX badging. Buyers can also opt for an exclusive Ice Pearl paintjob or choose from Boston Red, Century White, Ultra Black and Vitamin C, while either red or black full-leather seats greet passengers on the inside. Just 3,000 units of the Veloster RE:FLEX Edition will head to dealerships when the model goes on sale early this spring.

Outfitted with a 201-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger, the 2014 Hyundai Veloster Turbo boasts a class-leading power-to-weight ratio while still netting up to 33 mpg on the highway. That mix of performance and cost savings recently helped the Veloster Turbo top the Sporty Compact Car category of the 2014 5-Year Cost to Own Awards from Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com. Factoring in Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price and projected depreciation as well as a variety of ongoing financial considerations like fuel, maintenance and financing costs, the KBB.com 5-Year Cost to Own Awards recognize the vehicles in each class that are predicted to be the most affordable during the first five years of ownership.
