2014 Lexus RX Lauded by U.S. News for Family Friendliness

As Lexus' best-selling vehicle, the RX may not need more accolades to boost its popularity, but the luxury SUV's appealing design was recently reaffirmed once again with a pair of 2014 Best Cars for Families awards from U.S. News & World Report. Honored for delivering on family-friendly qualities like safety and reliability while still impressing auto critics with their amenities, the 2014 Lexus RX 350 and Lexus RX Hybrid topped the Luxury 2-Row SUV and Hybrid SUV categories, respectively.

U.S. News determined its Best Cars for Families awards by looking at each vehicle's available child-ready features, its safety and reliability ratings, and its reviews from auto journalists. Both the Lexus RX 350 and RX 450h hybrid won over critics with their upscale cabins, spacious rear seats for children and cargo space for road tripping, while the RX 450h was also lauded for its class-leading fuel economy of 30 mpg combined city and highway. When it comes to entertaining the kids on longer rides, the 2014 Lexus RX is available with a dual-screen Rear-Seat Entertainment System featuring seven-inch LCD screens for playing DVDs or video games.

Additionally, the Premium and Luxury Packages will now offer a triple-split five-spoke wheel with light-gray paint and a machined finish, while the aggressively styled 2015 Lexus RX F SPORT trim can be purchased with a new Cabernet leather-trimmed cabin.
