Fresh Nissan Versa Models Attract Record June Sales

With an all-new Versa Note hatchback launching for the 2014 model year and a refreshed Versa Sedan debuting for 2015, the Nissan Versa lineup currently boasts a range of fresh features for attracting buyers, and that showed in last month's sales results. Nissan moved 11,613 units of its Versa in June, a record for the month and a 33 percent year-over-year increase.

Together with a 68 percent year-over-year sales boost for the Nissan Sentra, the strong performance of the Versa lineup played a large role in elevating the overall Nissan brand to a best-ever June tally of 101,069 units sold. The 2014 Nissan Versa Note hatchback returns an impressive 40 mpg on the highway when equipped with its optional Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), while offering a Divide-N-Hide system that provides a flat cargo floor and hidden storage space when the rear seat is folded down. Buyers can also opt for a breadth of in-car technologies, including an Around View Monitor and the Nissan Connect with Navigation infotainment system.

"Subcompact buyers tend to be younger drivers who want a fuel-efficient ride that is accompanied by intuitive technologies, and the new Versa Note is winning them over by going above and beyond what's expected in the segment," said Larry Tentarelli, general manager of AutoFair Nissan of Stratham, a New Hampshire Nissan dealer. "The same can be said for the Versa Sedan, which returns identical highway fuel economy to the Versa Note with the same Xtronic CVT and features a similar center-stack design for the 2015 model year."

Newly standard features on the updated 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan include Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and white LED gauge-cluster lighting. Meanwhile, the base S and S Plus trims have added an enhanced audio system with an auxiliary input and a Radio Data System. Versa Sedan owners who purchase the SL Technology Package also now benefit from Nissan Connect with Navigation and Mobile Apps.
