With 45 straight months of record sales, demand for Audi vehicles has never been higher in the United States, and that growth is being felt in the Greater Philadelphia area. Audi Wynnewood has announced that it will start building a new state-of-the-art showroom and service department as soon as this December to help keep up with customer demand, while its existing facility will be redesigned to provide additional service capacity next door.

Slated to be built on the site of the former Main Line Times building that will be demolished this month, the new Audi Wynnewood facility is part of a roughly $1 billion building investment at Audi dealerships nationwide, and it is expected to be completed by around December 2015. Designed by Gardner/Fox Associates, Inc., the building will feature Audi's new "terminal" dealership architecture, which focuses on efficiency of space, limited waste and natural light to cut expenses by 30 to 40 percent compared to older dealerships.

"Our new showroom will not only be a beautiful, modern building, but it will also provide a more streamlined experience for our customers as we continue to see rising demand for Audi vehicles," said Rob Nourie, general manager of Audi Wynnewood. "Whether they are looking to finance a new car or need service on their existing Audi, we will interact with all of our customers in the same spacious new facility. Meanwhile, we'll revamp our current building to open up additional space for maintenance, which will ensure that all service requests are handled as quickly and thoroughly as possible."The current Audi Wynnewood dealership is located at 323 East Lancaster Ave. in Wynnewood, Pa., while the new facility will be built just across the town line at 311 East Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore, Pa. Twelve vehicles will be on display in the new showroom at a given time, and Audi Wynnewood's two buildings will combine to cover about 30,000 square feet. As the new building is constructed, Audi Wynnewood's operations will continue as normal at its current facility.

Audi Wynnewood is part of the MMCO Auto family of dealerships, which has also planned construction at other Audi stores to meet increased demand for sales and service from the brand. In Conshohocken, Pa., Audi Conshohocken will be building a new advanced service center that is expected to be complete by next August. Meanwhile, a brand-new Audi dealership, Audi West Chester, will be constructed in West Chester, Pa., around the same time. MMCO Auto's other stores include Audi Reading, Porsche of Conshohocken, Volkswagen Reading, MMCO Auto Body and The Warehouse pre-owned vehicle sales in Conshohocken, Reading and Wynnewood.
