HH Sheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane Pays An Official Visit To Morocco

HH Sheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, arrived, Tuesday afternoon in Casablanca, for an official visit to Morocco at the invitation of HM King Mohammed VI.

HH Sheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane is accompanied by a strong delegation, including notably HH Sheikh Hamdan Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, representative of the governor of Abu Dhabi in the western region, HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, HH Sheikh Saif Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and HH Sheikh Abdellah Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, Foreign minister.

Upon his arrival at the Mechouar Square in the Casablanca Royal Palace , HH Sheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane was received  by HM King Mohammed VI.

Following the welcoming ceremony , HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, hosted  at Casablanca's royal palace, an official luncheon in honor of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The event was attended by the official delegation accompanying HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, mainly HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, foreign minister.

The event was also attended by the Head of government, speakers of parliament's two houses, HM the King's advisors, cabinet members, presidents of constitutional bodies, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco, as well as civil and military figures.

On the same day , HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and HH Sheikh Mohammed Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane chaired  at the Royal Palace of Casablanca, the signing ceremony of several bilateral cooperation agreements in various fields.

The first agreement, covering security and ant-terrorism, was signed by UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HH Sheikh Saif Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, and Morocco's Interior Minister, Mohamed Hassad.

The second agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint commission of Consular Affairs, was signed by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Morocco's Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar.

The third agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Moroccan Academy of Diplomatic Studies and UAE diplomatic academy, was signed by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Salaheddine Mezouar.

The fourth agreement is a memorandum of understanding in the field of agricultural quarantine and plant protection and trade in agricultural products, was signed by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Agriculture and Marine fisheries minister Aziz Akhannouch.

The fifth agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of veterinary health and safety of animal and sea products, was signed by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Aziz Akhannouch.

The sixth agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of agricultural development and livestock, was signed by HH Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Aziz Akhannouch.

The seventh agreement covers the mutual technical and administrative assistance in customs matters. It was signed by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Economy and Finance Minister, Mohamed Boussaid.

The eighth agreement is a memorandum of understanding on the project to create a multidisciplinary training center. It was signed by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Mohamed Hassad.

The ninth agreement, providing for building a hotel in Rabat, was signed by Khalifa Al Khouri, deputy president of the holding company Al Koudra, Hassad, Boussaid, Tourism Minister Lahcen Haddad and the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer region Abdelouafi Laftite.

The 10th agreement is a memorandum of understanding on Islamic Cooperation. It was signed by Mohamed Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq.

The 11th agreement is a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of education and teaching. It was signed by Ibrahim Khaoula Maala, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Rachid Benmokhtar.

The 12th agreement is a memorandum of understanding in the field of higher education and scientific research. It was signed by Said Hassani, Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Lahcen Daoudi, Minister of higher education, scientific research and executive training.

The 13th agreement is a memorandum of understanding in the field of youth and sports. It was signed by Abdelmalek Ibrahim Mohamed, Secretary General of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, and Mohand Laenser, Minister of Urban Development and Planning, and acting Minister of Youth and Sports.

The 14th agreement is a memorandum of understanding between the Morocacn Ministry of Health and the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi. It was signed by Maha Barakate, Director General of the Department of Health and the Minister of Health, Lhoucine El Ouardi.

The 15th agreement is a framework agreement on cooperation in the field of renewable energy. It was signed by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masdar and the Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Abdelkader Amara.

The 16th agreement is a contract between the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines and the UAE Moubadala Petrolium group for the exploration and evaluation of oil reserves in the Western Mediterranean region. It was signed by Dr. Sultan A Jaber and Amina Belkhadra, Director General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines.

The 17th agreement provides for joint cooperation between the National Authority of Water and Electricity and the UAE Masdar on the implementation of projects to provide solar energy to homes in the regions not connected to the electricity grid. It was signed by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber and Ali Fassi Fihri, Director General of the National Authority of Water and Electricity.

The 18th agreement is a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy and Emirati company "Masdar". It was signed by Mr. Sultan Al Jaber and Mr. Mustapha Bakkoury, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy.

The 19th agreement provides for the acquisition by Maroc Telcom of all the shares held by the UAE Etisalat in African companies. It was signed by Mr. Ahmed Abdulkrim Julfar, Executive Chairman of Etisalat and Mr. Abdeslam Ahizoun, CEO of Maroc Telecom.

The 20th agreement is a memorandum of understanding between the Agency for the development of the Bouregreg Valley and Eagle Hills. It was signed by Mohamed Al Abbar, Managing Member of Eagle Hills and Mr. Hakim Lamghari Sqal, Director of the Agency for the development of the Bouregreg valley.

The 21th agreement is a memorandum of understanding between the Agency for the Development of Tangier-City port and Eagle Hills. It was signed by Mr. Mohamed Al Abbar and Mr. Mohamed Ouanya, CEO of the Agency for the development of Tangier-City port.
