Colorado Springs, CO – Eating Disorder Center of Colorado Springs (http://www.edcdenver.com/) is pleased to announce two new members of the eating disorder treatment program. Jennifer Gutowski, MA, LMFT and Nuwanee Kirihennedige, RD join the team to provide healing and recovery from all types of eating disorders through our empowerment based program in Colorado Springs, CO and beyond. Also noteworthy is the new expansion of the evening outpatient program, now spanning four nights a week, four hours a night, to provide enhanced service to the community.

Jennifer Gutowski is the new Family Therapist, bringing with her 18 years of experience working with individuals and families in residential, inpatient, outpatient, and school settings. She teaches the power of family dynamics and how it shapes who we are as individuals, helping to empower clients to use this understanding to find their voice and pursue healthy, values-driven, purposeful lives. Jennifer will be in charge of implementing the brand new family program and believes deeply in imparting a message of hope to patients that recovery is possible.

Nuwanee Kirihennedige is a registered dietitian, is a certified nutrition practitioner, and has a Master’s Degree in Sports Nutrition. Her work is in clinical, eating disorder, and sports nutrition fields, where she provides support to the US Track and Field and US Olympic Synchronized Swimming Teams. She believes strongly in a holistic approach with food and nutrition to support client-centered wellness and behavioral goals. Her passion to help establish healthy relationships with food combined with her in-depth understanding of the science of eating disorders makes her a perfect addition.

Program coordinator Stephanie Schoville, MA, LPC declares it an exciting time to be part of the Eating Disorder Center of Colorado Springs, a time of growth.

“Both Jennifer and Nuwanee offer a compassionate, client-centered approach to healing and round out our team,” Schoville says. “With such high-caliber professionals on our team, we are equipped to treat cases from the simplest to the most complex.  We place a high value on community relationships and look forward to how our expansion might better serve our community.”

As the only intensive outpatient program for eating disorders in southern Colorado, the eating disorder center looks forward to serving their community both with new experts and new schedules.
