There are many reasons that cause drying skin, like weather changing, pollution, and traveling. Stress and dieting can also affect your skin. The most common symptoms are flakiness, cracking, and dullness. Most people claim that they usually get dry on the chin and sometimes on the forehead along with the nose area.

1) Skin type

Knowing your skin type is very important. It makes it easier to decide what products to use. To determine the type you have, check how your skin looks and feels by the end of the day.  When you are oily and dry at the same time it’s called Combination skin also known as the “T-Zone area”, in which you’re oily on the forehead and the nose, while dryness occurs around the chin and upper lip area. Such skin types generally require extra caring to treat.

2) Exfoliate

Exfoliating twice a week will help to get rid of the dead skin cells that is flaking on the surface. It also helps to detoxify, reduces fine lines, improves skin tone, prevents breakouts, and make products absorb better into your skin.

3) Facial masks

Masks help to restore elasticity and renew skin cells. It also promotes softness, brightens the complexion, clarify impurities, and reveals a healthy glow to your skin.

4)Toning & Hydrating

Toners help to balance the PH level in the skin after cleansing, adds a layer of protection, and make your pores appear smaller. Using a serum is a great addition to your skincare regime. It penetrates deep into the skin and nourishes it because the molecules in the serum are smaller than the regular moisturizer. It also has nutrients and vitamins like C & E in it. Hydrating mists or sprays are good for refreshing and make the skin more absorbent for the moisturizer.

5) Moisturizing..Moisturizing

Find a thick moisturizer with oils, as it will have better

absorption through the layers of the skin and hydrate the tissues underneath. Apply in upward strokes, after washing your face while the face is still damp. Focus on the dry areas with a good amount of the cream. My personal recommendation is Ponds. It is a great deep moisturizer and super affordable too.

6)Protection

Always use a Sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and up to prevent sun damage and UV rays that cause wrinkles and dryness. Use it after your moisturizer for maximum hydration and protection.

7) Water

Drinking water is a major effect to your skin. While water works from the inside to detoxify and hydrate, it makes your skin look more youthful and feels softer. It is recommended to drink water at least 2 liters a day, you can also substitute it with Coconut water which is very healthy. And it’s claimed for giving a clearer complexion over time.
